2026 Board of Directors Election
Three Board of Directors seats will be open at year-end 2026. Review the timeline, eligibility, and official documents below.
Nomination and youth voter registration forms are available below. The Election Committee will update this page as each milestone in the timeline is reached.
Board of Directors election announcement
Dear EIC Member: Assalam u Alaikum
There will be three vacancies on Evergreen Islamic Center (EIC) Board of Directors (BoD) by year end 2026, when Br. Saqib Hassan, Br. Khurram Hafeez and Br. Nayeem Sheikh will complete their terms. EIC is seeking nominations from motivated community members who can contribute their time, experience, and expertise towards serving EIC and the EIC community.
The deadline for submitting a signed nominations form is October 25, 2026, by 9 PM. The date and time deadline will be strictly adhered to. Please ensure your nomination form is submitted before the deadline.
The EIC Weekly Newsletter will also include details and periodic reminders on the 2026 BoD Elections.

Voter eligibility
- 18 years or older and a Santa Clara or Alameda County resident.
- Donated $1,000 or more to EIC Operation or Construction between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026.
- Spouse qualifies as an eligible voter.
- Youth/students 18–25 years qualify as eligible voters if parents are eligible, subject to submission of the youth voter registration form.
Board of Director eligibility
- Any voting member of the organization who has maintained membership for a period of 2 consecutive years, immediately preceding the election year.
- Must be a resident of San Jose (incorporated or unincorporated areas).
- A US citizen, US Permanent Resident, or on a Work Visa (for example H-1B, L-1) with an approved I-140 petition by USCIS and 5 years of residence in San Jose.
- Must be at least 25 years old.
- Agree to maintain voting membership status during the tenure.
- 1 year of active volunteer experience in any committee at Evergreen Islamic Center, certified by the committee lead.

Download, complete, and submit to the Election Committee by Sunday, October 25, 2026, 9 PM PT. Word (.docx) form for filling and signing.
Youth Voter Registration Form
For students ages 18–25 whose parents are eligible EIC voters. Submit by Sunday, October 18, 2026, 9 PM PT, with required ID copies.
