Volunteering
Volunteering is the lifeblood of our community — your time and skills help run programs, serve families, and strengthen EIC.
Volunteering is the lifeblood of any community. It is because of volunteers that communities are able to run religious organizations, social services, conferences, playgroups, feed the hungry, shelter the homeless — and the list goes on.
Volunteering is a beneficial and productive form of sadaqah, helping those in need. Not only are you benefiting others, you are earning reward and learning how to become more productive in your everyday life.
As Muslims, our role is not limited to making our salāh, fasting, and paying zakāh. We are encouraged to take on a broader role by working to improve the communities we live in. It is by translating our love of Allah into good actions that we strengthen our īmān. Islam is a faith of action — we demonstrate our faith by working to make the world a better place.
Evergreen Islamic Center organizes events and activities that need volunteers in many areas. This is your masjid — our programs and events depend on your commitment.
An informal general body meeting is held regularly on Saturday morning after Fajr. You can learn about upcoming programs and plans. If you would like to help organize events or take part in volunteer activities, please contact us at info@eicsanjose.org.
