Bismillah hir-Rahman ir-Rahim. The EIC Women's Committee charter sets the vision, mission, values, membership, goals, communication plan, and meeting cadence for women's committee activities at Evergreen Islamic Center for FY 2026 and beyond.

Values — Adab | Sharaf | Akhlaq
Adab (الأدب) — Good manners, etiquette, refinement, and propriety in behavior as would be pleasing to Allah.
Sharaf (شرف) — Honor, nobility, high rank, and prestige for the pleasure of Allah.
Akhlaq (أخلاق) — Ethics, morals, disposition, and character; refinement of character to please Allah.
In short: Akhlaq is the internal state or character; Adab is the outward expression of that character through behavior; Sharaf is the honor earned through embodying these virtues.
Membership
Membership of the committee is sought each year at the beginning of the year from volunteers in the community. Each member who signs up is expected to contribute input into formulating the goals and help execute them through the year.
The Committee is led by an EIC Board representative and co-led by another Board member if assigned. A core team of experienced members helps craft strategy and advise on execution.
The EIC Board prioritizes goals and assigns operational and financial support for approved projects. Each member participates in various projects and is empowered to execute with oversight and guidance from the Board and Core Team.
Goals
Goals are established at the beginning of the year to create a roadmap and calendar of activities. They may be refined during the year as needs and priorities arise. Goals are informed by broader community input (including surveys) and finalized with EIC Board review and support.
Main goals established for FY 2026 include:
• Organize the Ramadan Bazaar 2026 and support Ramadan activities, including Grand Iftaar, Khatam Night, and iftar/dinners. • Beautify the basement multipurpose room and enhance its aesthetics and appeal. • Organize women-led programs with qualified scholars, professionals, and expert speakers — covering women, families, professional development, mental health, coaching, youth, students, and Muslim awareness and advocacy throughout the year. • Organize social events such as Ladies Meetup for Eid Milan and Global Bistro (fundraising and outreach). • Hold monthly Women's Committee meetings to track progress and calendar executable ideas. • Establish a process for volunteer signup, training, and assignment to projects with broader outreach. • Enhance social media presence through Instagram and Facebook channels. • Conduct quarterly or six-monthly surveys to keep a feedback loop with the community. • Establish and update a shareable calendar of activities. • Create opportunities for hike/walk, book, and hobby clubs. • Analyze the need for a dedicated young mothers' space (pros, cons, and what can be achieved). • Analyze the need for programs that support professional and matrimonial alliances for young adults, and how such programs can be achieved.
Communication & meeting cadence
The committee meets once monthly on a recurring schedule (online) after an initial in-person kickoff at EIC. Ad-hoc project-based meetings may also be held.
Key decisions from scheduled meetings are captured as meeting notes and shared via email or WhatsApp. Communication to and from the Board occurs through the Board liaisons.
Communication methods include an email distribution list and WhatsApp group(s). Committee materials are treated as confidential for discussion within the committee; external communications are made with oversight from the EIC Board.
