Topic: Prohibitions of the Tongue – Part 2 Hurt from the hand is often forgotten, but the hurt from the tongue often places deep scars, and as a great Scholar once said, “Swords have not started as much warfare as the tongue.” “Prohibitions of the Tongue” is a brilliant poem that was compiled by a Great West African Scholar and Mujaddid (reviver of Islam), Imam Mohammad Mawlud. It is a Foundational Text and an essential one for all to study, in some capacity. The text not only covers what is permitted and prohibited from speech, but it also discusses rules related to the eyes and ears as well.
